New Year Wish List

All items from Clothing Loves

Of course, it would be only fitting to begin the new year with a look ahead to what I want to be wearing. I have featured Clothing Loves on my blog before, thanks to the great selection of jewellery they offer, but I found myself checking out the fashion side of the site a little more when I logged on this morning. They offer quite unusual pieces at really reasonable prices and I thought I'd put a little look together to showcase some of my favourite things.

As I am sure you'll all know, I love mixing textures in my looks, and I always find this easier to do in the winter when I can get loads of tweed, boiled wool, boucle and silks on the go. Not to mention a whole stash of faux fur! So it will come as no surprise to see I picked three very heavily textured pieces: a gorgeously tweedy overcoat, a boucle knitted shirt, and some boiled wool, scallop hem shorts. Shorts are not something I'd normally choose; if I ever wear a shorter bottom half, it's a mini skirt and that's it-I'm not sure whether, as I am approaching 30, shorts and tights is something I can get away with. What do you think? I think as long as the shorts were smart and not too "hotpanty" I could potentially pull it off, with a cute ballet flat of course. What really sold these shorts to me was the belt-I know, how sad is that-but it's so cute, with the little bow on the front. So me! I always think the "grunge" trend looks so cool and edgy on so many girls I see but I am too girlie for studs and spikes....I'll take bows and boucle please!

Nonetheless, I don't want to look too saccharine sweet, so this rather interesting beetle brooch gives just the right antithesis to all that cuteness. The pointed lapels of that shirt dispel too much girliness also-I love that they're super sharp, as opposed to that 'peter pan' style roundness (which I adore, but it's nice to see something a little different now and again.)

Clothing Loves has an amazing range of outerwear for women, wholesale women's jackets, and even wedding dresses so you'll definitely be able to find something to spend your Christmas pennies on. This outfit is definitely high up on my list of new looks for 2013!

This website is amazing - thank you for the recommendation :) although I have to say, after browsing for a little while, my favourite things were still the jacket and shirt you picked :) can't believe how cheap it all is either - when I've got some pennies I think I will definitely give it a go! x
