New Coat

Wearing: Topshop coat, Mulberry bag, Vintage jumper, Vintage skirt, Topshop boots

I think I have some sort of obsession with coats. I always seem to find one lovely one after the other, that I simply must own-I can't help it, I think, especially in the autumn/winter when we spend so much time wearing a coat, it's good to have a lot of options. I have a French friend who always stresses the importance of a good coat and/or jacket because, according to her, you can wear the most basic outfit but if you have a good coat, it pulls the whole look together. Advice I heed!

This one is a Topshop find. I love the tweedy/boucle mix of fabric and colours, the oversized, cocoony shape, and the zip! I always choose button up coats but I love the modernity the zip brings to this one. I spotted it a few weeks ago in Topshop but it was £79 and I couldn't really stretch to forward past Christmas and it's gone into the sale! I got £20 from my mum and dad for Christmas so putting that towards it, it only cost me a tenner. Which I think is a really good buy!

These Topshop booties have become a staple in my shoe-drobe too. They were also a sale purchase and I love the simple shape and the small heel. They're perfect everyday boots especially if you're wearing a statement coat or other piece that demands the rest of your outfit be simple. Perfect!
