Day Tripper

Wearing: Vintage blazer, Vintage silk blouse, Jil Sander (Uniqlo) cardigan, Vintage skinnies (thrifted) Pied a Terre ankle boots, House of Harlow ring, Primark sunnies

If you keep up with my instagram you'll know I was in Weston on Monday catching up with my family. I had such a lovely day it was really great to see them. I am so struggling with what to wear at the moment, because all my transitional wardrobe seems to be dark coloured and I can't seem to inject any of my looks with any degree of summer. This was what I wore on Monday; initially I felt a wally wearing boots as the day dawned quite brightly but by the time the train was pulling away from the station the clouds had darkened and the heavens opened once again. So I was pleased I had chosen to wear sensible shoes! Unfortch my lovely black strap sandals have been completely ruined by having to walk home in the rain in them-I did consider going barefoot but just couldn't quite bring myself to do it, though it would have saved me a pair of shoes. Mind you we've barely had a summer to wear sandals this year anyway. Complain complain, we love it, us Brits, don't we! I realised earlier that it was St Swithin's day today, which forecasts that the weather we have on this day, is indicative of the weather we'll have for the next 40 days. If this is the case-bring it on because today, whilst not really hot, was definitely summery-warm with a breeze and I can definitely take that over grey clouds and rain. Typically I had to work today but I have a week off very soon and I am hopeful that the weather will maintain for that. I suppose it's a bit like the American version of Groundhog Day, all this St Swithin's malarkey-whether it actually rings true or not is anyone's guess!
