London Fashion Week Livestream: Jaeger

Since I have been working all weekend I had missed the opportunity to catch any live shows from LFW, but my day off today rectified this. I ensconsed myself at my computer at about 8.45am in readiness for the Jaeger show to begin at 9am-it ran a little late and kicked off about 9.15.

The first models out all stode down the runway to a muted electro soundtrack, in white, leading me to believe that this will, as always, be a key trend for SS11. The pieces were structured, as you would expect from Jaeger, with a slouchier incousiance about them which led to an unstuffy feeling overall, which I liked from this house which is so renowned for its tailoring. One button blazers and waistcoats with contrasting lapels were a focal point.

Dresses, of course, also played a large part-from silky sheaths in metallic white decorated with oversized watercolour poppy prints, to (my particular favourite) a red parachute inspired dress with a mandarin collar, cape back, rivet details and pull ties flapping around the models ankles.

Bubbling under-I noticed lots of little waist bags, box clutches, and even a small bag worn around a model's neck. There was a also a hooded shrug and plenty of flats, noteably smarter-than-your-average boxing type boots in patent and lace up brogues, which I think will be items to keep an eye on over the coming months.

Models: I was pleased to see the ever elegant Jourdan Dunn on the runway, looking glowing if a little thin. But then, she is a model I suppose. The model's hair was all sleekly ironed, then playfully pulled into loose knots at the back or side, letting strands fall out for a messy, textured look that somehow still looked clean and complemented the classic quirkiness of the clothing. Orange lipgloss was also very much in evidence, a trend that I long to try but always think will look bizarre. Not on these girls though!

Check out the Jaeger website for more information and products-you can now buy online! Yippee!

Next up is Todd Lynn, so I shall report on my findings of that later!

Have you watched any of LFW so far? What's been your highlight?
