Casual Party Look

Whilst it's lovely to get dressed up for the party season, all too often we end up buying things in a rush which might only get a couple of wears. I wrote a post about my Festive capsule wardrobe last year which you can read here, and in it I spoke at length about the importance of buying a few key things that you can mix and match to create different looks with. I feel the same idea still applies, and you can also reverse the pattern - buying daywear cleverly enough to turn it into eveningwear without much effort.

Whilst stonewashed jeans might not immediately signify 'night out' I think that for a low key evening look, they can work really well. Step away from the trainers, and pair them with a classic court - this pair from Spartoo have added sparkle! This instantly elevates a basic style to something much more special.

Bomber jackets show no sign of going away, and a quick update to a more festive friendly style is to pick one that is covered in sequins. This one from Toppers is not only sequinned but also patterned, and will look just as cool thrown over an LBD for a more formal outing. The sporty stripe trim makes the whole look feel effortlessly cool.

Velvet is having a big moment (as I discussed here!) and this spaghetti strap cami top is a very modern shape in the classic fabric. It is so easy to pair with so many looks - it dresses up the denim but equally would work over a tux trouser or sequinned skirt for a high octane glamour outfit.

I love this look - a little quirkly, a lot of fun, and every piece is super wearable and not limited to 'Christmas.' What do you think of the look?
