Review: London W11 Cashmere

Cashmere knit jumper c/o London W11 Cashmere

Summer seems a strange time to be posting about a cashmere jumper but in reality, living in England, knitwear can become trans-seasonal. Especially in the evenings, if you are out and about but don't want to wear a coat, a lightweight cashmere knit can be a perfect alternative.

I was lucky enough to be sent a piece of cashmere by the brand London W11. Established in Notting Hill within the Royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea, this young brand is named after the postcode that inspires it. Owner Eva-Maria Khan noiced a gap in the market for essential but luxurious cashmere pieces and so set about creating and selling her own. Hence, London W11 Cashmere came into being and continues to go from strength to strength.

London W11 Cashmere offers both men's and women's styles in their online boutique. The pieces are certainly intrinsic to any capsule wardrobe-beautifully made, investment quality items happy to be worn season after season. They are packaged beautifully in a branded box, making it a wonderful gift to yourself or treat for a loved one, and the styles are classic, yet contemporary-trims and finishes setting them apart from entry-level cashmere into stylish and timeless, wear-forever pieces.

I chose the cashmere crew neck sweater in navy blue. Incredibly soft, lightweight handle yarn is made when downy hair is combed from cashmere goats native to inner Mongolia, and the timely production and low yield is what makes cashmere so expensive. This jumper is just lovely-it fits beautifully without being tight or baggy, and the branded button neck detail sets it apart from the averge navy sweatshirt. Sitting on the natural waist, it's a piece smart enough to wear to work and easy enough to pair with jeans for a more causal feel.
