Often as summer rolls around a new shoe trend or two surfaces and for the last couple of years, the pool slide has taken the lead as they must have shoe of the season. This time, the slide has matured somewhat; whilst rubbber flip flop styles and the ubiquitous Birkenstocks are as popular as ever, there comes a slide that can actually be worn to work!
Welcome the smart slide in to your shoedrobe. Part formal shoe, part easy-breezy summer sandal, this shoe is today's equialent of the mullet; a kind of half and half affair, suitable for any occasion, smart or casual. Closed toe, with an open back or potentially a slingback strap, these come in a multitude of heel heights but the most amazing mules are the flatties.
