New Season Footwear

Shoes from Topshop and TK Maxx

Gone are the days of ballet pumps, I fear; I have had to invest in some more suitable footwear for the readily inclemently-turning weather. I am really pleased to have found most of my autumn/winter shoes in the sales, and I thought I'd share 3 pairs that I've bought recently.

I have been looking for a pair of brogues for ages, and though these Topshop monk shoes aren't really what I had in mind, they bring that edge of novelty and fun to even a basic look. I have been wearing them with skinny jeans and statement knitwear, or my classic silk trousers/camel coat combi. They cost £15 in the sales but I really like these ones which I might have to go back for; they are definitely more like what I was really looking for!

I always find black boots impossible to buy; they never seem to look 'right' on me, weird as that sounds. I tried this pair on in TK Maxx on a bit of a whim and was really pleased with the fit; they are quite narrow which suits my foot shape well and they come high enough up the leg to (hopefully) make sure I don't look too stumpy (they are flats.) They cost £39.99 and are so warm; I seem to try and avoid wearing boots as much as possible so to find a flat pair that I actually want to put on is a real achievement! You can find them on the TK Maxx website here.

Finally, I love a loafer and I'd had my eye on these block heeled, tassel fronted numbers for ages. When I saw they had gone in to the sale I snapped them up. I have to admit they aren't the comfiest shoes I've ever tried but I am hoping they just need to be broken in; and once I've softened the leather a bit, they'll be dreamy. That's the best thing about buying shoes from the charity shop-someone's already done that for you! These ones aren't available online any more, but you can buy them in black here.

I think it's safe to say that my A/W Shoe-drobe is pretty much complete! These shoes will definitely make up the mainstay of my daytime looks, and I am sure they will be worn in rotation throughout the whole season!

Have you bought any winter shoes or boots? And if anyone can direct me towards the perfect brogue, please do!
