The Camel Coat

Wearing: Selected Femme camel wool coat, Whistles silk trousers, H&M angora jumper and wool bowler, Topshop shoes, Fiorelli bag

I have to admit, even I was surprised when I found this coat in one of my local charity shops. It looked practically brand new, and with a fancy label like 'Selected Femme' inside I would have thought the price would have been extortionate. I was surprised that it was only £8 and, despite not having heard of Selected Femme before, I loved both the colour and the fabric, as well as the fit being just lovely, so I snapped it up. I have since googled Selected Femme-as you do-and it turns out the SELECTED brand was launched in 1997 and is represented worldwide. Similar coats on the website come in at between €100-€230 so I'd say I definitely got a bargain!

This outfit is all of the bargains, actually. The Whistles trousers were in the clearance section on the website for £20 and the monk shoes were a Topshop sale buy for £15. This silk trouser/angora jumper combo is a look I've been reaching too far too frequently of late, sorry if you are bored of seeing these trousers, I know I'm going to be too cold to wear them in a minute so I am making the most of them!

A camel coat is such a classic piece, I absolutely love this and I am pleased to get my hands on it since my trusty George at Asda (so cool) number went all mouldy in my old house and had to be binned off. It has only taken me about a year to replace it but it's come at exactly the right time, and I know I will wear this one all winter long.
