Face of the Day / May Favourites

Firstly, apologies for the state of my hair in these pictures! I'm switching my fringe up to a more short, square version as opposed to the rounded one I've been sporting for the last few months, but this means I have to grow out the longer side pieces and it now desperately needs a trim!

It's been a while since I did a 'Face of the Day' but I thought I'd combine with one with a mini 'May Favourites' as well to tell you about some of the products I've been using and loving over the month of May. I'm in a good mood too because the sun is shining and I've been able to get some nice outfit shots taken which I'll be sharing with you later in the week!

My basic face routine is always the same and you can read all about that in this post. I have been using (and absolutely loving) this MUA compact which is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette, this one is called 'Undressed' and is basically a plethora of really wearable shades, all of which I have used apart from the two grey toned shades, I never really wear black or grey shadows but I've used all of the other colours especially the perfect taupe/nude which you can see I've hit pan on. I was hoping this shade would come in a single pot but MUA don't seem to do it, but since the palette in it's entirety cost £4 (!) I would happily just re-buy the whole thing again; I've bought single pot shadows from other brands that cost over double that before so it's such a bargain, MUA has only recently come onto my radar as a brand and I've gone a bit mad on it, but when everything is so cheap it's hard not to. I'm currently waiting on a lipstick that I've found to come back into stock, the lipsticks cost £1 a piece and I literally swatched about 20 shades from several different brands to find the perfect nude (you'll have seen this if you follow me on Instagram!) and which did I like the best? The MUA one, of course. It's currently out of stock in my local Superdrug so hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on it soon!

In this look, I've used a khaki shade to give a slightly darker eye look but it's still very wearable for daytime. I used the perfect taupe shade as a base and then the colour you get from the darker shadows is more true and potent to the pan colour. It really doesn't crease either which I found incredible for such a budget brand. Definitely recommend this!

Other products I am loving this month include:

The Superdrug B.Pure Micellar Water: Amazing cleansing water which really takes all my makeup off, properly. Scary when I think before I was happy with my cleanser but when I see how much more this takes off, I realise I must have been sleeping with more gunk on my skin than I first thought! ugh!

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist: since going back to ombre, my hair is super dry on the ends and this delivers a much needed boost of moisture and detangling effects!

Burt's Bees Milk and Honey Naturally Nourishing Body Lotion: whilst not cheap, this body lotion is super rich and nourishing. I keep it by my shower to remind myself to moisturise every day, and it smells lovely too.

Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm: I got this product in the May Glossybox and I absolutely love it. It's a lightly lemon scented balm, almost like a thick cream, which glides on smoothly and intensely nourishes the skin. I've been switching this out every other day with my usual night cream, and I love the way it makes my skin feel really soft and smooth.

So that's a small review of the products that have been ringing my bell over the month of May. I'd love to hear the bots and pieces you love, as I am obsessed with all things skincare at the moment, so any tips or products that you love and you think I should know about, let me know in the comments below!

I am also planning my very first 'empties' post! I know this is normally a YouTuber video type of thing but I am not very good in front of the lens, so I am going to try and translate it to a blog post for you!
