Face of the Day / Ombre Braids

Another face of the day! I wanted to share this look with you which is a really simple, everyday look that I've been wearing regularly. I try to keep my daily makeup routine quite basic and since I have discovered BB creams in a big way, this seems to make this daily face look even easier!

The BB cream I am loving at the moment is the Time Delay Skin Treatments BB cream SPF 15 in the shade Light, which is the lightest colour in the range. Usually BB creams can be a challenge because a lot of them only come in one shade, so to find one that does come in a lighter colour is really exciting!

Using an SPF daily is important to me because no one wants to sun damage their skin! So if the UV protection is already built in, so much the better! This BB cream applies really easily and gives light to medium coverage, which is buildable to a fuller coverage if desired.

I finish the base with this BM Beauty finishing powder, which I got in a Glossybox and I've actually used up. I will probably re-purchase this because at £8 for a large pot it's pretty good value, but I have a whole pan of Natural Collection pressed powder to get through first so I don't really need it just yet!

My everyday eye look is based around a liquid liner flick, which I have been wearing since I was about 15. I use a mineral shadow in a taupe or bronze shade to give a good wash of colour to the lid, line my top lid with a felt tip liner, and finish with a couple of coats of Seventeen Dolld'up mascara. I've heard mixed reviews about this product but I actually really like this mascara and use it almost everyday.

Lastly I draw in my brows to make them more defined and use a mineral blush in a russet sable tone on my cheeks. I love using darker shades rather than my usual peaches or pinks to really add shape to my face. I use a nude or light peach toned lipstick too to really pull the look together.

I have recently ombred my hair again, which I did myself, and a great style I've discovered for second or third-day hair is this milkmaid braid. I split my hair into bunches, plait each whilst pulling them up instead of down as you would usually, and pin. It's so easy and always gets lots of lovely compliments!

Hope you like my everyday makeup look. What's your everyday routine?
