Print Mix

So, as in another shoe related post I did recently, I talked about leopard print and how you could use it to bring out a playful element to your look. And look what's happened. I've fallen head over heels, again, for a touch of animal print and look: these somewhat fabulous sandals by Sam Edelman at Spartoo have not only leopard, but zebra print in the mix too!

I love these flats. I love the style; that simple ankle strap and central thong mean they can totally be multi print and still work, the clean aesthetic of the shoe shape means there's no overpowering blocks of print or texture but elegant slivers of it that add sophistication to a look rather than shouting "check me out in my leopard print flip flops!" This simplicity is multi tonal too; these shoes carry with them a plethora of possible looks, from bohemian with a cotton blouse and skinny jean, to wild with a raw hewed denim short and fringed bikini top for a hit of Coachella cool.

Notice also, that little hit of red on the side straps? How lovely would these look with red toenails to play off the pop of colour? I'd wear these in a left bank way, a bit Parisian (of course, that's my other obsession) with a skinny black jean, oversized cotton tee and navy blazer, really making them the focal point of my look. Basically, I am just trying to talk myself into buying them with this justification: they're an edgy and elegant take on a classic shape and how often do you find something like that? Answer: Rarely, so they must be mine!

What do you think of these?
