Hi Lo

Wearing: Dress as skirt c/o Matalan, Primark boucle jacket, thrifted Benetton sweater, La Tenace ballet pumps, Luxla Hex bracelet

My new 'go to' look of the moment is something I've only recently discovered but never thought I'd wear. I own 2 short skirts (my leather one and my checked APC one) which I rarely wear but since the hot weather we had last week tempted me into them, I've found a new love for the mini. The trick is what I pair it with; in my case, I feel really comfortable wearing them with a slouchy knit and a hi-cut ballet pump. It's an easy look which feels comfortable and chic, it just makes me feel a little French for some reason (must be the ballet pump!) and now I can't think of anything I'd rather wear.
This lovely little nude skirt is actually a dress which I was sent by the lovelies at Matalan. It's such a nice shape, with the higher front and lower back, and it is one of my favourite colours. Everyone knows I love a neutral! I teamed it with a thrifted Benetton sweater which I found in a charity shop, a Primark boucle biker jacket which I am in love with but is also been the bane of my day because I found it for a tenner in the sale, but there were only 2 left-a size 18 or a size 8. I bought the 8 (I would normally get a 10 in jackets) and it fits well but I wore it for about an hour before I realised it had a massive rip in the back arm seam :( I did think about taking it back, but I knew there were no more to exchange it for and I loveeeee it so I reached for the needle and thread and did a (not terrible) DIY repair job. Because the rip is on the back of the arm seam it's not too obvious and when my hair's down it covers it anyway. I don't know if it was ripped already or if I ripped it, but I was gutted either way! I'm glad I decided to keep it though as I know I'll wear it loads, my blazer obsession rumbles on!
The shoes are La Tenace (I absolutely love the toe cap!) which I bought from eBay. They're navy, super soft and fit me perfectly. I love the combination of navy with the nude, this colour palette is so me, I'd wear these shades every day if I didn't think you'd get totally bored of seeing them!
You can buy this lovely dress here, it's such a steal and I know I'll wear it loads over the summer. Do you like it?
