"train insane or remain the same"

This is a bit of a different post for me but I wanted to share with you something that I have really got into recently. When I moved to Bristol from Devon, one of the hardest things I found was the abandonment of my exercise routine. My background is gymnastics, plus dance; I did street dance for almost 4 years, and also latin and ballroom dance for about a year which I actually found more physically challenging than street dance which I never would have thought would be the case!
Anyway, so I would dance maybe 3-4 hours a week and also a couple of nights a week I would do aerobics or some form of cardio. So going from that, to nothing, was really hard for me. I was hoping to join some classes in Bristol but it's quite hard without any girlfriends to go with! So it was very happily that I found the gorgeous Cassey Ho online! She is the author of Blogilates and teaches online POP Pilates. The videos are really cute and Cassey's enthusiasm is infectious. There are loads of really varied routines and the levels vary from beginner (handy if you're completely new to Pilates) right through to intermediate and advanced. I have been doing the routines for a few weeks now and I am loving the results, plus I really enjoy doing this form of exercise: I can do it at home, it's cheap, and literally all you need is yourself and a yoga mat. Easy it aint, but it's super fun and I am learning to push myself every day. I try and do a mixture of the workout routines (for about an hour) 3 times a week or so, and the more I do, the more I am able to do! I am really feeling like my flexibility and core strength is coming back, after a few months of being slovenly I am embracing getting back into a regular routine of exercise.
If you want to look at Cassey's blog (you SO should!) check it out here.
What kind of exercise do you guys do? What are your routines?
XO Amie
