Blue Sack Dress....

Dress, Sunnies: H&M
Bag: Christian Dior Saddlebag
Blazer: River Island
Jewellery: Vintage, Luxla and House of Harlow
Boots: Topshop

This dress is one of those staples that I always reach for if I need the perfect smart/casual outfit. Everything about it is perfect-navy blue, which is fast becoming my favourite colour, and is so transitional-it looks as good with a peachy, corally pop of colour in summer as it will with camel, leopard or black in the winter. The sacky shape and string tied waist mean it can be worn pulled in and so perfectly suits my shape, plus I don't feel trussed up like a Christmas turkey in it. For a casual spin I've teamed it with my Topshop 'Antique' boots which, yes, I wear with everything; they just work so well and are supremely comfortable. I am also getting a lot of wear out of this leopard print blazer-so much so I need to re-hem the back of it-it's the perfect mix between smart and casual too and it looks good with so much. Of all the dresses I own, and believe me, for a trouser-aholic, I have a fair few, this is my favourite by far and away. It cost me about a fiver in the H&M sale years ago, but the shape, length and heavy jersey fabric have made it a classic. I hasten to tell you that these pics were taken in the later part of last week, when we had the last vestiges of what seems to have been the British Summer-bye then. Since the weekend we've had nothing but rain here and I've been snuggling down under blankets again, it's flipping freezing! Hopefully we'll get some sun again, though whilst I was watching the Andrew Marr show on Sunday he did mention that if it rains on St Swithins day (last Friday here in the UK) then it will rain for the next 40 days. And guess what-last Friday, it rained. I can only hope he's wrong....

It's been awful here since Saturday, the heating even clicked itself on last night. x
