...And the Bride wore McQueen.....

Who else tuned into the Royal Wedding today? I had to work but luckily not until 2pm so I didn't miss out on any of the proceedings. I was kind of in the 'take it or leave it' camp up until the day of the Wedding itself, when I woke up at 7am and popped on BBC to watch the coverage. I was hooked and spent all morning watching it until the end when the happy couple shared a kiss on the balcony and  there was a flypast. I was so impressed with the way the day turned out, and the pomp and ceremony made me feel proud to be a Brit. We do that sort of thing so well.

I also loved Kate's (well, now she's Princess Catherine) dress; of course the World waited with bated breath to see it and find out who had been chosen to be the designer. I was pleased to see it was McQueen; a fantastic homage to a wonderful designer and it's brilliant to see the hard work that is so evident from the House even after the designer's tragic death.

I also particularly loved Pippa Middleton's gorgeous dress which I believe was also McQueen; this was much more to my personal taste (with the exception of the slight cowl detail at the front which I didn't like as much) but I thought overall that she looked fabulous. Linking arms with Harry as they left the Abbey, she looked almost as much of a Princess as her sister did.

Highlight of the day for me was seeing Will catch sight of Kate at the altar and mouthing 'you look beautiful' to her. Awwwww! They're just a normal couple aren't they, with the exception that Will is second in line to the throne and over 2 billion people watched their nuptials on TV!
What did you make of the Wedding? Did you watch it and did you enjoy it? Whose outfits did you rate?

I've just posted something very similar on my own blog! haha! I was so happy it was Sarah Burton for McQueen, and I thought she looked absolutely stunning: classically elegant! I loved the lace detailing.

I felt exactly the same way as you, I wasnt bothered at all about the wedding until I started watching and them became enthralled!

I loved the wedding so much! Pippa's dress was McQueen as well - it matched Kate's with the same buttons and lace as details which i think was a really sweet idea!

wedding was awesome! Kate looked beautiful and both of the dresses were perfect - although I agree - Pippa's dress was more to my taste. You can tell they are both completly in love which is so adorable :o)

Kate and her sister both looked beautiful!

I loved the traditional ceremony. I loved the hordes of people waiting to catch a peek at the couple. I loved the affection between William and his new princess.

But honestly, my favorite thing to watch at any wedding in the UK is the fantastic display of hats :)
