Product Review: Aveeno Moisturising Lotion

A little while ago I mentioned that I had got hold of a sample of the above, Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion. Now I am a big fan of moisturisers...our skin gets a daily battering from the elements, fabrics, shaving, deodorants, multiple other products as well as extremes of temperature. All these things combine to make (well, my skin at least) have a little paddy fit and end up (usually) tight, dry or flaky (yuk!) I also suffer from the old 'Lizard Leg' syndrome where if my legs get too dry they look all scaly and taut, mmm attractive, NOT!
To wit, I always make sure I have a moisturiser about my person. Seriously-I carry one in my bag, especially if I am going bare-legged, and slap it on liberally whenever the need arises. I also try to stay out of the sun too much and use a high factor suncream, as well we know ladies, sun damage is a fast track to premature aging.
This daily moisturiser from Aveeno contains Collodial Oatmeal, which is renowned for having soothing effects on the skin, and it claims it will keep your body moisturised for 24 hours. This sounds great to me-one application will do for the whole day! fab.
I applied the moisturiser after showering in the morning, as I would normally do. The first thing I noticed about the product was the texture-it was really silky and creamy with a real 'melting into the skin' feeling about it. A small amount went a long way and instantly my legs looked gleamy, as if I had used a body oil. There was no greasy residue or overpowering fragrance either.
My only niggle with the product was that I still felt as if I was wearing a moisturiser, all day-my legs never felt completely 'free' of product which I suppose is how it can moisturise for 24 hours, but there was a small amount of stickiness remaining on my skin. I could live with this, though, as the moisturising benefits far outweighed the negative. After 2 days of use my skin felt softer and more supple than it had for ages. Result!
I shall definitely be buying this product again, it is of a mid-range price point so definitely worth an investment.
