Ever since these rather OTT OTKs trotted down the runway, there's been a bit of a moment in fashion for a metallic boot. Now, not everyone can wear a slouchy, swarovski crystal encrusted pair like these, or indeed, afford the price of them, but I'm taking the hint - metallics are in!

Whilst perhaps not the thing to wear to nip to Asda, there's something about a metallic shoe that adds a bit of punch to an outfit. I consider metallics, like leopard print, to be a bit of a neutral - they seem to work with everything from denim to a party dress and as such, are pretty easy to wear day to day. Plus, it's a great way to elevate a basic outfit; reach for these instead of ballet flats or Vans.

When I say 'reach for these' I am referring to a slightly easier to wear style. Perhaps an ankle boot, in smooth silver or gold leather, rather than a slouchy crystalised pirate boot - easier on the eye and the wallet too. Betty London have some amazing ones; I particularly like the styles by Betty London which are affordable, edgy and with the perfect 'all day everyday' block heel.
