Spring Look #005: The Silk Dress

Wearing: ASOS straw hat (similar here) Vintage silk dress (similar hereVintage watch and jewellery Zara shoes (similar here)

It's finally summer (?!) here in the UK and it's been warm enough to get my legs out! I have been wanting to wear this silk dress for so long but it just didn't look right with tights. I was starting to think I might have to save it for holidays but when the weather is as warm as it has been here it's a shame not to make the most of it.

I am much more a trouser than a skirt or dress person but I have got a few dresses that I do like to wear and this is one of those. It's silk and the drape is jsut lovely-I picked it up at a vintage kilo sale so it probably didn't cost that much in all honesty and it looks and feels much more expensive than it is. It's cut with a shirttail hem so the back drops down a little and the back pleat detail is so pretty.

I have put away all of my winter hats and dragged out my favourite straw ones from the last couple of years. This hat is so cool and always gets lots of compliments when I wear it, it's quite different but I like the style and it fits my pinhead nicely. My Zara shoes are proving invaluable, I have been wearing them so much to work but I also like to wear them with anything above the knee in length, my legs aren't my favourite feature so I prefer to wear midi skirts, or if I wear anything shorter, I like to wear a heel.
