New in to the Capsule Wardrobe: The Boot Edit

Mid way through January I am finally getting around to talking about the newness in my capsule wardrobe. I had wanted to put up these posts before showing any of the new items in outfit posts so that's why they've been a little sporadic of late. I spent the most on the 'winter' section of my capsule wardrobe, which I thought I would do, but I ended up with some lovely things that I've worn an awful lot already! That being said, I felt that to include everything in one post might be a bit much, so I've broken it into 2 posts covering clothes and shoes.

Starting with footwear, these incredible Finery boots were a Christmas present from my mum and dad. I had wanted these for ages so they very kindly gave me some money to put towards them, and I've worn them almost non-stop since! They are so cool and edgy, and really comfortable as well. They have a squarish toe and are slightly higher on the leg than most ankle boots which makes them different from anything I've owned before, and despite their wacky exterior they are really easy to wear and go with loads of different looks. Shop them here.

I had made a list of the type of thing that I wanted to get for the winter season and a DM style shoe was on my radar. I find authentic DMs are always too wide for my feet but I really liked the style, and as I've got two pairs of lace up brogues already, I wanted something a bit different. These monk shoes from Whistles fitted the bill beautifully; I'd seen them in the window of my local store for months but the £150 price tag was quite off-putting! I waited it out until they went into the sale and managed to pick them up for around £40-much better! They are lovely quality and very comfortable to wear. They are now £35 in the sale-sold out online but do ring your local branch who can look on the system to check availability for you elsewhere if you did want them.

Finally, I wanted a heeled boot, mainly to wear to work, as I felt that my other chelsea boots weren't really smart enough for that environment. I spotted these in Topshop for around £65 and just before Christmas they went into the sale, so I ended up paying £40 for them. They are very soft leather with a smart almond toe and they have a great block heel which means they are easy to wear, but look great with culottes or dresses alike. These have now sold out I believe but these are similar.
