Autumn look #002: the wardrobe wildcard

Wearing: ASOS coat (similar here) Alexa Chung for Madewell silk blouse (similar here) Topshop binx jeans (here) ASOS watch (similar here) River Island loafers (here)

I have to apologise for wearing these River Island loafers again in this outfit post; I've got a few other pairs to choose from but at the moment these ones are my favourites. I have snapped another look which will go up on the blog later in the week and I'm wearing them in that, too! Ah well; I can't help how comfy they are so I'm sorry if you are bored of seeing them!

This red silk shirt was an Ebay buy; it's from the Alexa Chung collection for Madewell and I think I paid about £20 for it. I was really hesitant to include it in my autumn capsule as it doesn't really seem to go with anything; the colours in the capsule are navy, black, cream, khaki, grey, leopard print and mustard with a small splash of cobalt and then this random red shirt. I never wear red really either, but I absolutely love the fit and style of this blouse so I thought I'd see if I could make it work, and if not, could perhaps sell it on or put it into storage.

I wore it initially with these Topshop Binx jeans which are one of my favourite Toppers jean styles. I liked it so much, I then wore it again under a cord pinafore dress with ankle boots; totally ripping the Chung's style but I like the look so I thought, why not! I actually really love it with the leopard print layered over it which I feel tones it down a little. I think a bright red like this can look a bit 80s worn with black, but I like it with denim and navy, it seems to work quite well.

I'm really unsure what to do with my fringe at the moment, after having a short fringe for ages I think I'd quite like a longer, more shaped fringe again but it's a hassle to upkeep it. Short fringes are great as I can cut it and then not have to think about it for ages!
