Autumn look #001: the breton top

Wearing: ASOS girlfriend jeans (here) Whistles stripe top (similar here) River Island loafers (here) H&M backpack (similar here)

The first outfit from my 'autumn capsule' ended up being one of the most basic; but one I love nonetheless. You'll have seen these ASOS jeans on the blog before; here they are styled with sandals, but to take them into autumn I went with these River Island black loafers that I am currently obesessed with. I love the fit of these jeans, slightly higher on the waist (I forgot to tuck my top in which was annoying!) but super comfy and a good shade to change up from black jeans but still feel autumnal. I've packed the ecru denim away, until spring at least!

A stripe top is a staple for a lot of people and I have consciously tried to keep a long and short sleeved option in this autumn capsule. Good for layering, this top is thick enough to wear on its own right now and is also smart enough to take through to work with tailored trousers and brogues. I like the higher neck and bracelet length sleeves.

My backpack is a hard worker in my wardrobe and although bags don't count as part of the number of items you can have in your capsule wardrobe, I don't really have a huge amount anyway (always more of a shoe girl!) This one is really handy and a great size for everyday.
