Smart/Casual

Wearing: Whistles coat and jeans Topshop jumper Hobbs brogues and Marc Jacobs watch c/o McArthur Glen

It seems funny to be posting these looks when it's so lovely and sunny outside! I've been busy shooting lots more summery outfit posts but I did want to publish these ones first, as I'm still talking about my looks from the McArthur Glen accessory styling challenge that I posted about here. I chose a smart-casual look for the third outfit, which is one of my faves; including my Whistles boyfriend jeans that are featured an awful lot on the blog, as they are possibly my favourite pair. They have sold out in this colour now I think but might still be available in the denim wash here. This Whistles coat which I picked up in the sale has been such a useful piece, it's a classic style and I love the masculine cut.

Pairing a jumper and jeans combo with a smarter accessory and coat can really lift the look from basic to a little bit special. I love the colours in this look, navy and tan is one of my best-loved pairings and I like how the navy coat also references the navy shoes. My tan jumper is from Topshop and is available here. I added a vintage belt and the MJ watch and that was it; done. So simple and easy.

I tucked my hair into my collar here which I sometimes do to see how short hair would suit me. In reality if I ever had my hair cut this short it would look like a mushroom (I know as I've done it before; error!) but it's nice to pretend it would look cool and edgy even if I know it would look awful!
