DIY Jeans // #fromwhereIstand // Quiz heels // Breakfast // Charity shop Chanel // cream blush // sunshine // blogging // DIY shorts

I've been so busy this week with work that Instagrammin' has taken a bit of a backseat. However I've managed to get a few snaps in! I managed to get the sewing machine out and made a pair of shorts which I will detail in a blog post shortly. Needless to say, they look better in the picture than in real life; they aren't a great fit on me and whilst I am fairly pleased with how they turned out, I know they could be better. But they were really hard to make and I think they aren't so bad for a first attempt. I adore the fabric, and rebought some more from eBay which I'm either going to make a top or dress from. The pattern is so pretty and really vintage looking. I also updated a pair of jeans in my favourite way, by lopping off the hems and shredding the raw edge. Topshop are selling jeans like this, now, by the way, but you can easily do it on your own pair! Especially good if they've always been a little bit long!

Speaking of vintage, I didn't find any retro items in the charity shop this week but I did pick up a Chanel bag (post here!) and got some new makeup items to try, notably this cream blush from Rimmel which, following seeing it being used on Alexa Chung in a YouTube video by Lisa Eldridge, I went out and bought. Sad I know, but it looked lovely on Alexa and I think it might help me conquer my issues with cream blush, i.e, not being able to apply it! It's really hard to do, in honesty, I find, but the technique Lisa used in the video seemed fairly straightforward and I am finding my usual powder blush a bit cakey in this heat, so I thought I'd give it a go!

I have been out enjoying the sunshine at every opportunity, Wimbledon is back on the telly and I've been watching the World Cup every evening. In honesty now that England are out I can enjoy it a little bit more, there's no pressure! And now the group stages are drawing to a close, the real play begins; I'm loving it! British Summertime at its best!
