I think if I had to pick a seasonal capsule 'shoe-drobe' then the first place I would choose to look is Clarks. This might not seem like an obvious choice, but I really believe that the collection that they have presented this season is one of their all time strongest. The classics are all included, but their fashion pieces are more on trend than ever and have that wonderful transcending design; they will still be as current and covetable next autumn as they are now.
The perfect winter shoe collection should certainly include a smarter, loafer style, and these heeled "Alfresco Cafe" ones are just beautiful. I love the shape and the elegant touch of metal on the ponyhair upper. They are suitable for work, but also have a little extra that would let them work with a cuffed boyfriend jean for daytime.
I am having a little moment with brogues right now and, should I have to pick my dream pair, it would be these Mary & Clarks La Promenade flats. I adore the snakeskin style upper, the shape of the shoe and the scattering of studs, although I can't decide which colour I prefer; black snake, smooth black, or either of the metallic options. I love them all!
Finally, a bejewelled flat is a wise investment for those who don't want to don a strappy stiletto during the party season. These gorgeous "Amulet Jewel" ballerinas will be as easy to wear in the daytime with a slim cropped trouser as they will of an evening with a showstopping frock!
What do you think of my Clarks picks? All these shoes can be found on the Clarks website, so why not take a look?
