With a monochrome look like this one, I like to add a bit of interest using metallics. A metallic accessory, like a subtly sheeny shoe can really breathe life into a basic black and white look.
This aztec print smock dress is so cute, I don't wear a lot of print (apart from leopard but I see that as more of a colour!) but I love the interesting pattern on this dress. It works really well with the jacket which mutes it but also allows the print to play up.
These sandals are also a new favourite, they are from Esprit which isn't somewhere I'd usually shop but when I saw they were stocked on Spartoo, I thought I'd browse the range and these thick strapped flats really appealed to me. I love the simple shape and they really go with everything, also they are really supportive which is helpful at the moment as I've broken my foot! So heels are out of the question at the minute!
I suppose this outfit is more of an edgier style for me, I've styled the jacket like a cape which is one of my favourite ways to wear drapey jackets like this. I think this makes the look softer and less grunge. Also my crazy lizard sunglasses add a bit of a novelty element, I love these so much but I have never worn them outside of the house!
