April Favourites: Accessories

For today's post I thought I'd share my favourite accessory buys from April. Hope you enjoy!

-Chanel book by Edmonde Charles-Roux: Since I managed to read 4 books on my holiday, my lifelong love for reading has been re-ignited. I read constantly as a child but before I went on holiday I'd hardly read a book for months, prefering to watch TV or read blogs instead. On my much-needed break away I realised just how much I'd missed the simple pleasure of curling up with a good book (on a sun lounger in Portugal sounds much more glamorous than in an armchair in the drizzly UK!) but I've definitely got the love back and have been reading for enjoyment and relaxation a lot more since I came back. Currently I am reading Neil Young's autobiography but following that I will be getting stuck into this Chanel tome-bliss. Both gifts from Adrian who knows exactly what to buy me when it comes to books; he's bought me quite a few in addition to these, such as the Great British Sewing Bee series accompaniment, a book on French Style, a Street Style book and a book of 1000 Dogs. Thanks, Age!

-Primark neon necklace: I've been really loving the look of statement necklaces of late; I bought this one with my holiday in mind, as I didn't want to take any precious jewellery away in case the airline lost our bag or something, but I picked this one up from Primark for just £3 and I've worn it a huge amount; the flash of neon adds a bright summery feel and the shape is really stylish. It reminds me of a favourite jewellery designer, Bex Rox, who creates pieces of a similar shape and style but which are much more expensive, so this is a great dupe.

-ASOS WHITE leather clutch: I love a cute clutch and I am going to try and use this one as a daytime clutch in an attempt to stop carrying the whole of my life and the kitchen sink around with me in my handbag. Day to day I use a Mulberry saddlebag which Adrian bought me but I always have to use a tote as well, for things like my lunch or a bottle of water, but on days I'm not at work, I think this would be a useful (and smaller!) everyday bag. I stalked this in the sale for absolutely ages and finally bought it earlier in the month for £23.50, reduced from £70. It is really soft leather with an elastic flap to tuck in and the most striking orange trim, which is really summery and also lends itself to the 'flash of neon' moment I am having right now!

OASAP cat eared hat: This is a ridiculous purchase but I couldn't help myself! I adore this cat hat, and it garners compliments and comments wherever I go. In fact I loved it so much I have just treated myself to a straw version of it for the summer, as this is a heavy felted wool which has been perfect until just recently when it's been to warm to wear! You can buy it here.
