Ola from Olhao pt 1

Wearing: Primark peplum top and clutch, Cos chinos, Marni x H&M sandals

Despite the continuation of blog posts last week, I was actually away on holiday! The posts were scheduled and I didn't mention my holiday prior to this because I have a real anxiety about flying and I didn't really want to think about it....I was super excited to go away but I really couldn't stop thinking about how we were going to get there and so I just tried not to think about it, hence no posts around it previously!

The flight was ok, I am irrationally frightened I know, but I think if you have a fear of anything then it doesn't matter if it is rational or not, you have that fear. I shut my eyes for two and a half hours and opened them in the beautiful Portuguese city of Olhao, where Adrian and I intended to do nothing but chill out for a week. We stayed in an incredible house within walking distance of the harbour and shops, and literally did nothing for six blissful days. We took in the sights, strolled the promenade and spent lazy afternoons reading books in the sun on the terrace. I read four books over the course of the six days!

I didn't really think about what I was wearing too much, the outfit posts I've got for you aren't particularly stylish but I just wanted to be comfortable and relaxed which I was! I actually wish I had taken lighter weight trousers than these Cos chino's as it was so hot, hotter than I expected it would be, but they were really comfortable all the same. I picked up a few of these peplum tees in various colours from Primark before I went away, they cost £4 and come in several different colours which seemed to go with everything. I'm not a great advocate of Primark really but I wanted some cheap tops to throw in my case as I seemed to have loads of blouses at home but no real simple tops or tees. These fit the bill really well and I think they'll be worn a lot over the summer too, they're great for layering.

I had been saving my Marni x H&M sandals for a special holiday since I bought them last year and it was too wet in the UK to wear them. Sadly they chopped my feet up a treat so I only wore them on this day, then it was back to Converse and ballet pumps for the rest of the holiday! Typical!

The studded clutch is a dupe of one I'd seen in Zara for around the £20 mark, Primark came up trumps with this £6 copy and it was so useful to have in my hand luggage to keep passports, boarding passes etc inside, then when we arrived at our destination it was a great daytime clutch.

I had the most fantastic break away and I was really sad to come back, you forget how much the sunshine makes you feel happy and relaxed. I hated stepping off the plane to be met by about 3 degree temperatures and rain (but that was the only reason I hated stepping off the plane, haha)

Hope these holiday snaps aren't too boring, and mega apologies for the rude graffiti...we didn't notice it was there until we were looking at the photo's afterwards (fail!)

Awww, so glad you had a nice holiday! I've always wanted to go to Portugal, hopefully I'll make it there this summer. That clutch is so cute, kicking myself for not nabbing one!
