Blue

Sweater, Maxi Skirt: Vintage (thrifted)
Boots: Bullboxer
Belt: The Gap
Scousebrow: All my own handiwork

So I have decided to set myself a New Year's challenge. As my regular readers will know, my New Year's resolution was to wear more skirts. I am a total trouser junkie; I rarely wear jeans and I am right at home in tapered peg trousers and a slouchy blouse, but I feel like this has become a 'uniform' and I want to start pushing my boundaries with regards to my day to day style. I also want to start wearing more than 20% of my wardrobe!
With this in mind, I hereby introduce: My 7 Day Skirt Style Challenge. Yes, for the next 7 days I shall be attempting to wear a skirt and I will be showing you my efforts as I go. I am simultaneously excited and terrified by this prospect: trousers have become my signature piece, and I am already hunting a printed pair to wear in the spring. I hope you'll follow my skirt endeavours, mind, if nothing else it will certainly get me wearing more of the clothes I already have, rather than reaching for the same pair of trousers day in and out!
I bought this blue marl jumper from a charity shop in Devon for the princely sum of £2. I love the hugeness of it as well as the totes on trend salt 'n' pepper colourway. I slung a belt around it because worn with this column skirt it makes me look a little shapeless otherwise. The skirt was also a charity shop find and cost £1 from one of my local chazzers. I ummed and ahhed for ages over whether or not to buy it, but I decided I would probably get quite a bit of wear out of it so I stumped up my shrapnel. Wrong! I bought this on my BIRTHDAY and when I put it on this morning it still had the tags in it. *the shame* however now that I've actually put it on, I love it and I will make more of an effort to wear it! I've paired it with these Bullboxer boots that I have been wearing so much lately, I'm sure you're sick of seeing them but they are the comfiest boots ever for the height of the heel and they are cut ever so nicely on the ankle (I don't like my ankles!) so for me that makes them a winner and is a reason why I have been wearing them so often!
Hope you'll stay tuned to see the rest of the looks I try to create with my (limited) skirt collection!
XO Amie

Thanks for your amazingly sweet comment poppet. I choose the rings. Months before I knew he was going to ask me to get married he took me in to Tiffany's casually and asked me what I liked. I still didn't click duh!!! Thank you I loved it because it looks kinda vintage and it was quite different. xoxo
