Block

Coat: Topshop (but I'll pretend it's The Kooples)
Blouse: Primark
Skinny Trousers: Whistles
Boots: Bullboxer
Body Chain: Toppers

These Bullboxer boots are sooooo fashwan. They always make me feel really trendy, even if I don't look like I am, and even if the height of them scares me slightly (they're what my mum would call 'ankle breakers.') They're, as I think I've said before, heavily influenced by 'the blogger's shoe', the JC Lita. What I like about them is the very chunky clumpiness of them; they're the perfect antidote to too much girlieness. And they're suprisingly comfortable, despite their height. I have been mostly wearing them with skinny pants but in a quick (4 hour!) sprint round the sales today I've found something else to wear them with: a new skirt. Yes! a skirt! ME!! My New Years reso is to wear more skirts, which I am sure is a resolution I made last year and failed to stick to, but this new skirt is going to be worn a LOT, I can feel it. It's a pelmet, slightly a-line shape, in the softest black leather and I love it, I am definitely going to show you soon!
My other resolution is to create my 'capsule wardrobe', so rather than having a million things I don't wear, I want a tight edit of perfectly mixable pieces that I absolutely adore. This means that my sale shopping today was tempered with this in mind, I only bought what I felt I actually a) needed and b) would wear throughout the year. I'll let you know how the edit challenge is going in a few months, I'm sure!
The basis of my staple 'drobe is this beautiful toppers coat. It is a very good copy of one I've been lusting after by The Kooples but this one is navy mohair as opposed to black, and £45 in the sales as opposed to a couple of hundred quid. I love the leather collar which my hair has obscured a little-the first thing I thought when I looked at these pics was, god, I need to sort my hair out! My fringe is all grown out and looking ming, and I am debating a change to the colour too, but I am so indecisive. Anyway, it's on my list of things to do!
I love being accidentally on trend and when I looked back over these pictures I noticed a little colour blocking going on! I adore navy and peachy/coral shades which always remind me of sunsets in Devon when the horizon line is a fiery orange ombre-ing upwards into an inky blue sky punctured with twinkling stars. Funny where inspiration comes from isn't it!
Thankyou for all the lovely comments on my Christmas outfit! They made me smile!
