What's the Point?

After seeing this snap of the Olsen twins at New York fashion week, it's safe to say my craving for a pointy court shoe has reached a new height.

I'll take them in patent, suede, black, nude, coloured or print....but they have to have that all important pointed toe. Last seen around the early noughties (I'll admit, I had a cerise pink pair that I wore everywhere) the pointed court has shaken off its old double image of either an office shoe or an Essex girl's stiletto of choice and become a classy, versatile wardrobe essential.
I love how the Olsen sisters have cleverly showcased two ways to wear these lovely shoes. Teamed with a cigarette pant they look sharp, classy and sleek. However, worn with a skirt (pencil is best-and totes on trend for this season!) they add a really directional fashionable edge that a platform court or a round toe couldn't provide-no dowdiness here, just pure, leg-lengthening (especially in nude tones!) style.
What do you make of court shoes? Are they dated or is it right that they're enjoying a mini fashion revival?
All these lovelies are available from Spartoo.
