Finally!

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that the other day I was asking around about foundation. I follow a lot of beauty bloggers but was surprised and pleased that a lot of my followers who aren't beauty bloggers gave me lots of advice too. The main thing I realised was that if I wanted to invest in a decent foundation, and spend a bit of money, I should really take the time and effort to shop around and find out what suits me. I tried a few of the big department store brands, Clinique, Clarins, Lancome (which I've used in the past and loved) I didn't get to Chanel unfortunately but to be honest it was a little out of my price range anyway so it was probably a good thing! In the end, I settled at Estee Lauder where the consultant (who was fantastic) colour matched me and then set about applying a full face of foundation for me, using a brush (I normally use my fingers so this was a good tutorial!)
The product (Estee Lauder Double Wear) was fantastic and the colour she chose for me was spot on. I can't believe the difference it's made to my look-I don't even need to use powder anymore as it sinks into my skin and evens the tone without making it shiny or greasy, plus it has an SPF which my previous foundation didn't have. I loved the outcome and was sold! I'm definitely going to make the effort to apply it properly with the brush as well, to get the full effect!
The foundation costs £26.50 and with this I also received a free foundation brush (worth £28) as a special offer, and also a sample of the Night Repair serum which is really lovely too.
I don't often buy makeup but as I get older I find it's something I can't scrimp on. I'd rather spend a little more and get one really decent product that I love, than buy cheap and having to keep replacing it or buying alternatives.
What sort of makeup do you use?
