Printed...

Well! I have been wanting to share this with you guys for aaaages, but I didn't want to say anything until everything was done and dusted and in my hands. What am I on about? Well, back at the beginning of the summer I entered a competition run by Quiksilver Women, to submit a story, poem or photograph for possible inclusion in a book which they would be publishing in August. I wrote a poem and duly pinged it off, then promptly forgot about the contest until I recieved an email telling me that my poem had been picked to feature in the book! I was so surprised and excited; I'd love to be a writer in 'real life' and so anything getting published is really great for me. The poem has also been translated into three languages and it looks so cool in the book, I am so pleased with how it's turned out. The book is a paperback and it's laid out in a really lovely format and in all, looks fantastic and I am so proud to be a part of it. It's available from Quiksilver stores all over Europe but I'm not sure how much it costs yet. Another amazing part of the prize (as if getting my work published wasn't enough!) was that I was also lucky enough to be awarded a £250 gift certificate for the Quiksilver Women store online. Those of you who have read my blog for a while will know how much I adore the Quiksilver Womens line; they produce casual classics with a twist which is just my style. I got a preview of the AW collection and I want it ALL! I'm definitely thinking of buying a piece as part of my 'one item a month' project; needless to say I've already spent my voucher! I managed to get a whole load of amazing things with it though; probably my two favourites are a thin knit sweater and a silk racerback tunic.
So that's my news! I also thought I'd share some pics of the Angel Jackson Jaguar tote that I found in my local charity shop last week. I am obsessing, seriously obsessing, over this bag; I adore it and the size is absolutely perfect. I am having the biggest clearout this afternoon and this new bag has really made me rethink my bag collection; none of the others seem to matter now I have this one!
