Wistful dreams of a summer in the sun....

One of my very favourite companies, the quintessentially British brand Pied a Terre, have just sent me through a few stills from their Spring/Summer 2011 press release.
Once again, safe to say that the brand has smashed it. Beautiful shots, hinting at a European jet setter style with a modern twist. 1950's styling and 'Roman Holiday' were reference points and the gingham, nipped in waists and espadrille wedges on show make the 1950's the era to covet in 2011.
It's so lovely to see product lookbooks in black and white too-obviously colour is so important but black and white really lend appreciation to the shape, form and texture of an item.
Look at the gorgeously delicate straps on the heels below. The model looks like a gamine Hepburn for modern times.
Love the contrast of the buttery soft suede shoes against the rough tarmac.
Pied a Terre say; " The focus is centered on ladylike kitten heels and Hepburn-esque ballet pumps. Striking espadrille wedges add a tactile yet playful element to the charming photographs."

I can't wait to start shopping the collection!
In the meantime check out the gorgeous range, and more lovely pictures, on the website here
