The wonderful folks at Rimmel sent me some products to try out just recently, so I thought I'd review them for you here. I love Rimmel makeup-they always seem to have just the right product to suit my needs. What do you guys make of them?

The first thing I tried out was this Max Bold Curves Mascara. It has a curved brush to give you 14 times more volume than normal mascara, and up to 70% more lift.
On first application, the one thing I would say is that I struggled with the curved brush. It did provide good coverage and my lashes did appear thicker once I'd got to grips with how to apply the product, but prior to this I was blobbing clumps of mascara all over the inner and outer corners of my eyes...not a good look!
I liked the darkness of the mascara, it gave my lashes a good covering of really deep, kohl-esque black. I would give this mascara an 8/10 for effort, once you've got used to conrolling the wand!

The second product I tried was this 25 Hour Foundation. (which actually came in a pump bottle, not a tube-1 pump dispenses the perfect amount of foundation for the coverage I need.) Now, I am a veteran user of Rimmel foundations-having used Lasting Finish and Stay Matte previously. This one, however, knocks spots off both of those. I liked the previous Lasting Finish, but found that by the end of a busy shift at work, most of it would be running down my face. Likewise with the Stay Matte-I really didn't find this worked for me, for an hour or so it would look fine but by lunchtime I'd be reaching for the powder to touch up my shiny areas!
This foundation claims to give a 'smooth lightweight coverage'-check, plus it actually smells quite pleasant, and is easy to apply-I literally smooth it on with my fingers after moisturising and it sinks into the skin beautifully, and dries quite quickly, but doesn't tighten, so your skin does feel hydrated all day and looks fresh too. It didn't fade all day and I didn't have to reapply either, which is a great bonus. It also claims to be transfer proof and it doesn't budge; which is really good because I wear a lot of blouses and light coloured tops and sooooo many have been ruined by makeup smudges that then stain! But happily, this is not the case here! I use shade 103-True Ivory-which is absolutely perfect for me; and one of the reasons I have stayed true to Rimmel Foundations-I can't find a colour match as perfect elsewhere.
