Product Review: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

I have been lucky enough to get my sticky paws on this Lash Accelerator Mascara by Rimmel. I love Rimmel London products and I always try to check out the new offerings from them, and especially so with one of my favourite products which is mascara (it can make such an immediate difference to your face!)

This product claims to promote the natural growth of your lashes via a 'grow-lash' complex. The advertising campaign features one of my favourite actresses, Zooey Deschanel (erm, the girl has CHANEL in her name, what's not to like?!) Of course she is incredibly beautiful, and in the promotional shots her lashes look incredible. I want me some of that! The product strapline reads; " A mascara and lash treatment in one that promoes natural lash growth for beautifully long and remarkably strong lashes-naturally."

The mascara helps your lashes to grow by 'fortifying, renewing and nourishing' your lashes to help them grow stronger and longer. After the first application lashes should appear 80% longer, and after 30 days, they can be as much as 117% longer. I was so excited to try the product out!
The mascara is packaged in a glossy black and shimmery green tube (I don't know about you, but I love a decent bit of packaging! I know it seems shallow-but I love how slick this mascara looks on my bathroom shelf!)
The colour of the mascara is black, and on inspection, I was pleased to see the colour looks a really strong, carbonated black-none of these wishy washy faded grey-blacks that some mascara's proffer. Upon first application it really did make my lashes look longer and also thicker, I was using a Clinique mascara prior to getting my hands on this one, and was unsure how a lower-priced product would compare. I must admit, my brand snobbery was completely unfounded, as the Rimmel product performs as well, if not better, than my more expensive Clinique one. Result! Also I was pleased to find that there was no glooping, clumping or overpowering fragrance to the mascara-perfecto!

Now, the mascara really requires a 30 day trial to view any difference in lash length, so I shall be trialling it for the next month, and reporting back to you. In the interim, above are some image shots of the product to whet your appetites! I shall get back to you shortly with my findings!
