On the street, last Saturday afternoon:
Old Man 1 (wearing bright, BRIGHT red jumper with reindeer on the front, knitted in manner of ultimate granny gift) "Ello Bey" (this is what old Devonian men call each other, so it seems)
Old Man 2 (not wearing anything note worthy) "Ello Fred! Got your Christmas jumper out early!!" (cue: peal of laughter from OM2)
Old Man 1 "Hrumph" (shuffles off, stage left.)
Style works on so many levels. I think this has just proved that!
