Wearing: Sarah Kirsten 'Morning Glory' top (made by me) // Monki trousers // Topshop shoes

Another outfit I just didn't get around to posting at the time of wearing - the summer was a busy one for me and it's only really in the last week or so that work has calmed down and I've been able to even think about blogging again. The upshot of that is, a lot of out of season outfit images I've not yet posted! Imagine this with a coat over the top - for colder climes!

One thing I did manage to do over the summer was to get my sewing machine out a couple of times. I discovered this amazing blogger, Sarah Kirsten, who posts simple patterns for chic and wearable clothes so I thought I'd give a couple of pieces a go. This is a version of the Morning Glory top - the original has a tie back, which I also made (and cut too big so had to re-make) but this one is a boxy cropped version. I picked up the fabric cheaply - it was a couple of quid a metre - and it's quite a heavy cotton so I think it would be wearable for this time of year, perhaps for an evening out. It's quite versatile - I've styled it here with my summer staple Monki trousers and Topshop shoes, but it would look lovely with a midi skirt and heels too.
