Running with Brantano

Skechers memory foam trainers c/o Brantano

I posted here about trainers being a bit of a style essential, and whilst I can't say I wear the more workout appropriate styles day to day, I do appreciate how important they are for exercising in. I have recently started running again; I can't say I really enjoy it at the time I'm sweating up a hill but there's something about it that I'm learning to like. I have been wearing my Nike roshe run trainers for the most part but I was considering investing in a better pair; the Nikes are light but don't really offer that much support to the foot or ankle when road running, which is what I do.

Brantano have a big range of styles online and they stock some great brands including Adidas and Skechers. I was drawn to this pair of trainers by the promise of a 'memory foam' insole. Memory foam is more commonly found in matresses, granted, so the idea of it in a shoe was intriguing! It moulds to the shape of the body and provides support and comfort, so I couldn't wait to give them a try.

The shoes themselves are constructed from a lightweight jersery upper. I liked the heathered fabric and the quilted details which make them look quite feminine without being pink or neon (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't really wear much colour, even in my workout clothes!) and the shoes themselves are lightweight.

The major talking point of these shoes is the memory foam sole. It's amazing! I would wear these shoes as slippers, they are that comfortable. Slipping them on, your feet immediately sink into a thick layer of the foam, like walking on wet sand. The sole moulds to the shape of the foot and cups it as you move, meaning the fit is bespoke and the comfort unparralleled.

I definitely think these trainers will help with my running especially on the harder terrains. EDIT: I have since run 5k in them and I was super impressed with the support and comfort the shoes gave. The memory foam soles immediately shaped to my foot, and were squishy and comfortable throughout my run. They also un-moulded themselves after I took the shoes off and returned to their original shape. I was so impressed!
