Holiday Memories

A couple of weeks ago I was over in Spain enjoying the sunshine and music at Primavera Sound music festival. I'll have a more in depth post on this coming shortly on the blog, but I wanted to take the time to look back at some other holiday memories and the group of friends I've shared them with.

A large group of us went to Primavera this time and it was made all the more lovely as our friends Leroy and Carla came all the way over from Australia to meet us there. We spent a few fabulous days in the sun, on the beach and listening to music with them before they continued their holiday in Turkey (they wanted to make the most of Europe as they had made such a long journey to come over) and of course it was so sad saying goodbye; it was the first time we had seen them in over a year (they had also got married and I hadn't seen Carla since the wedding so it was really nice to catch up with her too.)

When I moved to Bristol I left all of my friends behind and it was quite daunting to move to a new place, with no one I knew around me. I look back at these pictures and think how lucky I am that I've got such a varied, interesting and fun friendship group; people I've met through work, or Adrian's work, or friends of friends, they are all so important to me and looking back on fun times spent together is always lovely.

I've been lucky enough to go on quite a few holidays over the past few years, which isn't bad for someone who is terrified of flying! I've been to Barcelona (several times now) Paris, and Portugal and I loved all of them. They were all quite different types of holiday; the first time I went to Barcelona was with Adrian on our first holiday together and we did a lot of the touristy things, which was lovely. We have been back a couple of times since to attend Primavera Sound. Paris was a trip I took with Adrian in late 2010 as part of his birthday present. It was a freezing cold but lovely holiday and we stayed in Versailles near to the palace, which was incredible. We went to Portugal in 2013 and stayed at a friends villa, it was the most relaxing holiday I've ever been on. We stayed in a small fishing village and spent a week walking around the marina and the local town, and sleeping on the sun terrace. It was wonderful and I would love to go on another holiday like that, where I can just relax and chill out! Primavera is a fantastic experience, but it is definitely very full on!

I've only been back from my hols a couple of weeks but the weather in the UK hasn't been that good and I'm already thinking about where I could jet off to next! If you are also looking at booking a trip away, check out Love Holidays for some great deals here.
