Savvy sale shopping

The summer sales are coming to a close which is bittersweet really; it means that the high street is full of lovely new AW product but it's still only mid-August; I can't get too caught up in thinking about Autumn yet when it seems like Summer is still in full swing.

The best part about the end of the sales is the chance to pick up some amazing bargains at the cheapest prices; most sales are up to 70% off at this point in the season so it's now or never to treat yourself to a bargain.

I've put together a little collage of key pieces that I thought would make really good investments. They aren't strictly summery pieces and would transition well in to the Autumn season and I found them all on Topshop.com, the Toppers sale actually ends today so check out the picks, hopefully they won't all be sold out, but even if they are sold through online it's always worth checking your local branch as Topshop always seem to have a small sale section on the floor even when the sale is officially over!

The jumpsuit is a key piece for 2014 and I have a leopard print one you might have seen here. I picked up this black one for £15 (it's now £10!) and I love it; it's a simple shape you could wear day to night with heels and a jacket or casually layered with a tee underneath and ballet flats. Plus it's black, ergo, goes with everything you already own!

I love these premium wedges which are now just £30 from £85. A wedge like this is quite a summery shoe but could be worn with skinnies and a long sleeved blouse through the autumnal months, before the boots come out! Plus, a tan wedge is a shoedrobe classic, they'll see you through summers for seasons to come.

I think the leather bag has sold out already; at £40 it's hardly surprising but what a great piece, and a perfect example of using sales and discounts to invest in timeless classics. Black or tan bags are a style staple for me and it would be used all year round, so well worth picking up.

Sunglasses are necessary all year round, especially on crisp winter days when the sun is low; I particularly loved the woodgrain effect on the frames of this pair and now they are just £3 so you can treat yourself!

Have you found any fab bargains in the sales this year?
