Front Row with Phase Eight

Front Row with Phase Eight

When Phase Eight announced a competition on their blog challenging bloggers to create a LFW FROW worthy outfit, I couldn't wait to get started. I think it must be quite difficult to dress for Fashion Week, I guess you want to look trendy and on point but without being too current; after all, you will be looking at the trends to come at the shows, so being bedecked head to toe in something very 'now' probably won't sit too well!

I have really been impressed with the way that Phase Eight have upped their game through recent collections. I picked up some amazing pieces in the sale which I can't wait to wear, and choosing a FROW look was actually really difficult-so much goodness!

I chose to base my look around this Erin jumpsuit. Jumpsuits are such an elegant and chic way to do something other than a dress; which is a failsafe choice for the FROW, but a jumpsuit adds a touch of difference and based in black is easy to wear and doesn't feel too trend led. The peg shape leg and belted detail set this one apart from others on the high street and I love the samrt/casual feel it has.

Of course, I love to mix textures in my looks and a great way to do this is with a statement coat. The jumpsuit provides a perfect platform for this and this Tania crombie coat fits the bill perfectly. Fashion rules dictate that black and navy should not be mixed but I think its better to rip up the rule book and go with what looks great; in my opinion black and navy make a beautiful combination especially when grounded in neutral accessories.

This brings me nicely on to the pieces that I've chosen to complete the loo. A classic nude shoe elongates the legs and is a total investment, working with everything in your wardrobe, from skinny jeans and breton tee to a cocktail hour-worthy frock. These Suzie patent pumps are timeless and elegant.

I added a scarf for warmth (fashion doesn't have to be completely impractical!) and after the coat is shrugged off as you take your seat on the FROW this wrap can be transformed into a shawl to beat any chills. If it's hot, it can be stashed below your seat and focus can remain on this luxe Tina tribal statement necklace, the perfect piece to add interest to your look.

I absolutely love this outfit and would definitely rock it at fashion week! What would you wear?
