Clarks x Orla Kiely

I absolutely love a decent collab; I always have, my wardrobe boasts pieces from Celia Birtwell for Topshop AND Uniqlo, Marni for H&M, Mary for Clarks, Kate Moss for Topshop, Margiela for H&M to name but a few, I'm sure there are more that I've forgotten about! I was really hoping I'd be able to get my hands on some of the pieces from the Marant x H&M collection but everything sold out so quickly....and then rapidly, to my disappointment, appeared on eBay.

One collaboration I couldn't not share on my blog was that of the Clarks and Orla Kiely mashup. Regular readers will know I have such an affection for the Clarks brand, I have several pairs of Clarks shoes and I love the heritage behind the brand. It was only fitting, then, that they join forces with print expert Orla Kiely to create a retro, glamorous and feminine collection perfectly in keeping with the heritage of both brands.

A base palette of green, navy, mustard and cream, seen so often in Orla's iconic prints, grounds the collection in the mood of the 1960's and 70's, complemented by patent uppers and blocky heel shapes. Luxe fastenings and streamined pieces leathers bring the collection straight into the modern day, making the offerings in this, Kiely's first ever shoe collection, totally covetable.

I am, of course, drawn to the wonderful 'granny' esque shapes of the lower heeled shoes, the beige pair in particular being a personal favourite. I would wear these with skimmer jeans and a silk blouse in the springtime for a clean take on transitional dressing. The incredibly doll-like, block heeled platforms cast in a mary jane style lend a dash of playful to the collection and most of the styles are offered in a myriad of colours and different materials.

The collection is available to buy from Clarks.com and prices start from £90.
