Amsterdam Style

When the opportunity arose for me to enter a contest to win a trip to Amsterdam, naturally there was no stopping me! I immediately started to think about what I'd pack for a short city break. Whilst I have never been to Amsterdam before, the city always seems to me to be a bustling hub of activity, with culture and style being key components of this city's architecture.

I knew that if I was ever lucky enough to be able to visit this city, I'd want to soak up as much of the surroundings and take in as many sights as I possibly could. With this in mind, my perfect outfit for a lot of day tripping would definitely have to include a flat shoe. Whilst I know heels are often the fashionista's choice, I think a supple little leather slipper would be the perfect accompaniment to a day spent pounding the pavements. These ones from Dune have little bows on the toes, too! so cute!

To add a splash of colour to complement the vibrancy of the city, I have chosen a rather punchy little skirt from The Kooples. I love the way that the colour palette of my look sits together; navy, tan, camel and stone all brought to life with a hit of mustard. Delicious!

Of course, no city break would be complete without a notebook...I would scribble down my thoughts and ideas in this super cute offering from Rob Ryan. No doubt Adrian would also steal it to use as a sketchbook as we wandered the city streets.

A snuggly jumper and classic camel coat from Toast will provide comfort and style whatever the weather. Clear framed glasses from Topshop add a little element of fun to my look and this beautiful leather Grafea satchel was made to explore the world with me.

For a final little touch of loveliness, a sparking ring from Alex Monroe is sure to make my heart sing everytime it catches in the Autumnal sunshine.

I'd love to visit this beautiful city. I'd stay at the Park Hotel, a 4 Star complex situated in the bustling centre of the city, so we could have everything we needed right on our doorstep.

Have you ever been to Amsterdam? Did you enjoy your trip?

What a pretty outfit combo - I'd wear it in a heartbeat (especially that skirt.... and coat...)

I did a girly mini break to Amsterdam and loved it, just a shame it was such a 'mini' break.

It felt by the time we got there it was time to go home again - but I suppose time flies when you're having fun, right?
