I recently tweeted about a River Island discount card I had (free with this month's Elle magazine!) that I was struggling to spend. Hard to believe, I know, but I have been making a concerted effort to stop buying repeats of the same thing; and my wardrobe is a plethora of black trousers and silk blouses so I have been looking to invest in some dresses or maybe some nice separates. Sometimes, trawling through a website can be quite uninspiring, especially if you aren't sure what you are looking for, and that's where the River Island 'Essential Edit' comes in.
Clicking through to view the edit, you are greeted with a specially curated selection of new season loveliness, making it easy to pull a look together. For a trans-seasonal take on the 70's trend, I've selected a couple of wardrobe staples - jeans and a mustard jumper - and given them a twist with a lace up sandal and blanket scarf.
I like to shop online, but all too often you can feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of product to check out, so useful edits like this can help to streamline the choice and make it easier to at least find a starting point to build on! The Elle magazine discount runs until the beginning of October so pick up an issue of that if you wanted to make a purchase to enjoy the savings; you can use it in store as well as online!
